Foundation of Joy, 501(c)(3), was started several years ago in Cincinnati Ohio, in memory of my sister Elizabeth Joy Hassett. She had a passion for music and film, died in and from her pregnancy, and wanting to be a mother. In her memory, Foundation of Joy raises funds and awareness for the welfare, education, and artistic development of children and young adults, the reproductive healthcare and human rights of children and women---and we do it through art.

Foundation of Joy was created during the filming of the feature film, joy.  Joy was inspired by Elizabeth's life and her relationship with her sisters.   Elizabeth was a founding member of the film company Red Love Film.  In creating the business model, she created a branch of the film company that would participate in philanthropic work.  Red Love Film produces commercial film, and also with the goal of using art as a way to promote the work of the nonprofits doing the daily work.  In her memory,  Foundation of Joy is just that.  We use art to raise awareness, raise funds for the nonprofits doing the work to improve the lives of children, and spread joy.

We have framed our goals along with the United Nations Millennium Project to end extreme poverty by 2015, and will be producing a series of films and artistic events focused on issues surrounding the 8 goals of the UN.  Each year, we announce a slate of work.
